André Masson, an auctioneer at the famous Scottie’s auction house, receives a letter one day stating that a painting by Egon Schiele has been discovered in Mulhouse at the home of a young worker. Very skeptical, he makes the trip and has to face the truth: the painting is authentic, a masterpiece gone missing since 1939, confiscated by the Nazis. André sees this discovery as the pinnacle of his career, but also the beginning of a struggle that could jeopardize it. Fortunately, he will be assisted by his ex-wife and colleague Bertina, and by his eccentric intern Aurore.
Op een dag verneemt André Masson, veilingmeester bij Scottie’s, het nieuws dat een schilderij van Egon Schiele gevonden is bij een jonge arbeider in Mulhouse. Een sceptische André gaat ter plaatse en komt oog in oog te staan met het authentieke werk dat sinds het jaar 1939 spoorloos verdween. Deze vondst kan de carrière van André een grote boost geven, maar brengt hem evengoed in gevaar.
André Masson, commissaire-priseur dans la célèbre maison de ventes Scottie’s, reçoit un jour un courrier selon lequel une toile d’Egon Schiele aurait été découverte à Mulhouse chez un jeune ouvrier. Très sceptique, il se rend sur place et doit se rendre à l’évidence : l’oeuvre est authentique, un chef-oeuvre disparu depuis 1939, spolié par les nazis. André voit dans cette découverte le sommet de sa carrière, mais c’est aussi le début d’un combat qui pourrait la mettre en péril. Heureusement, il va être aidé par son ex-épouse et collègue Bertina, et par sa fantasque stagiaire Aurore…
