Op 1 juli in het jaar 1895 vertrok de kapitein Joshua Slocum uit de haven van Boston om met zijn zeilboot Spray als eerste de wereld solo rond te zeilen. Vijf decennia later bouwt Pierre in zijn tuin een replica van de zeilboot. Hulp krijgt hij van Geneviève en zijn elfjarige zoon François.
